Jadon Sancho is reportedly eyeing a move away from Manchester United, with La liga giants emerging as a potential destination in the upcoming transfer window.

Reports from Spain have ignited speculation about this high-profile transfer, leaving Man United fans eager to see how this saga unfolds.

Sancho, who arrived at Manchester United with high expectations, has found himself in a challenging situation lately. After being benched in the Red Devils’ first three Premier League matches, manager Erik ten Hag notably omitted him from the squad that faced Arsenal, a game Manchester United went on to lose 3-1. Ten Hag cited poor performance in training as the reason behind Sancho’s omission, which prompted a swift response from the player on social media.

The 23-year-old winger took to social media to deny the claims made by his manager, labeling himself a “scapegoat” in the process. This public dispute has escalated tensions, with Sancho reportedly refusing to apologize for his post. As a result, he now finds himself training separately from the first-team squad, fueling speculation about his future at Old Trafford.

While Turkish clubs had previously shown interest in Sancho, they failed to secure a deal before their transfer deadline. Now, reports suggest that Barcelona is keen on a loan move for Sancho in the upcoming January transfer window. Sancho himself is said to have “offered himself” to Barcelona and expressed a desire to play under the tutelage of manager Xavi.

However, the financial constraints at Barcelona are a significant obstacle. The club currently lacks the funds required to afford Sancho’s transfer outright. Nevertheless, they are reportedly exploring alternative methods to secure the England international’s services.

In anticipation of Sancho’s potential departure, Manchester United is already making plans for his replacement. Ten Hag has expressed interest in signing Villarreal’s Alex Baena, who can operate both in central midfield and on the left wing. The Premier League club is said to be willing to pay €60 million (£52 million) for Baena, a sum that Villarreal is reportedly open to if they receive a fee for selling Sancho in January.
