The attention around Mason Greenwood is certainly ramping up this summer after his return to football this year.

With a successful loan spell in Spain with La Liga club Getafe, Greenwood has seemingly kickstarted his career again, with a number of top tier clubs looking to sign the 22-year-old.

Initially it looked as though Getafe were looking to bring the United youngster back to Spain after he arrived back to Old Trafford this summer. A post on X from their official account showed an image of the winger waving to the Getafe fans with the caption “See you SOON, blues.”, seeming to suggest a desire by Getafe to secure the player going forwards.

However, this week it appears that Getafe are looking elsewhere looking to Real Madrid’s Arda Guler as Greenwoods successor.

Apart from the La Liga club, Borussia Dortmund have also declared interest in the winger, expressing a desire to loan the player if their first choice transfer, teammate Jadon Sancho, doesn’t come through. The concern around securing Sancho’s signature sits with his extensive salary at Old Trafford, earning him €20 million gross per year, €6 million more per year than their current highest earner, Matt Hummels.

Now, it’s clubs from Italy making a move for Greenwood, with the winger expressing that he’s open to joining one of the Italian giants.

La Gazzetta dello Sport  have announced that Greenwood has spoken with his agents to express his acceptance of a move to Italy this summer, triggering preliminary talks with Serie A giants, Juventus.

Juve have been rumoured to be interested in the winger for some time, but this is the first time official interest has been reported, with Thiago Motta joining the club as new manager in the coming week, having already approved the Englishman’s signing.

As such, talks have begun between United and Juventus through intermediaries who are aiming to gain information about this potential transfer this summer.

With a year left on Greenwood’s contract, the Red Devils are valuing the winger at between €35 million and €40 million, which may be an issue, potentially being too expensive for Juve at this time.
