Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo has recently commented on the ongoing speculation about a potential transfer to Manchester United.
Reports had surfaced that last summer, the English club was considering a significant financial proposal to persuade Araujo to leave Barcelona for a new chapter in England.
However, such a transfer, if ever seriously considered, did not come to fruition. Araujo continued his career at Barcelona, becoming an integral part of the team under Xavi’s guidance.
Despite the lapse of time, the rumors about Manchester United’s interest in Araujo have persisted. It was reported towards the end of last year that the Red Devils were willing to offer a substantial increase to Araujo’s salary to attract him to Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen on bolstering his defensive lineup, either in the current transfer window or at the season’s end.
The team has faced challenges with injuries within their defensive squad, impacting their overall performance consistency.
Araujo, 24, addressed the media about these transfer speculations. He expressed his contentment at Barcelona and his lack of intention to leave.
His statement was clear, “In every transfer window there are rumours of all kinds. It’s normal. The only thing I can say is that I’m focused on the team and also on this club.
“I’m comfortable here and I always try to give everything for this shirt.”
He continued, “There are always rumours that appear in all markets. There was talk in the summer about Manchester United, but I am focused on Barca. And I will always give one hundred percent.”
