Real Madrid is reportedly open to parting ways with their defensive stalwart, David Alaba, who could potentially make a switch to Manchester United in the ongoing transfer window, as per certain reports.

Manchester United, are on the hunt for a solid presence at the heart of their defence, amidst speculation that their skipper, Harry Maguire, may be on his way out before the transfer window concludes.

The team, under the helm of Erik ten Hag, has already seen the addition of two new names – Mason Mount from Chelsea, and Andre Onana from Inter Milan. Their next anticipated recruit seems to be the frontman from Atalanta, Rasmus Hojlund.

Once this is finalised, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Red Devils are likely to focus their attention on securing another midfielder and a central defender before the transfer period ends.

As per the Spanish outlet Nacional, ex-Bayern Munich star and Austrian international, David Alaba, might be the one donning the Manchester United jersey soon.

According to their report, Real Madrid has given the green signal to the English side regarding Alaba’s potential move. The Austrian centre-back appears to be warming up to the idea of accepting the offer from the Premier League club.

Nacional’s report further reveals that Alaba is actively engaged in negotiations with United. The publication adds that Ten Hag is highly interested in the player and is keen to include him in his squad at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils appear ready to make a significant investment to facilitate Alaba’s departure from Real Madrid. The Spanish team, on the other hand, has reportedly begun making preparations for his possible exit.
