The Brazilian currently has a release clause of a hundred million pounds which is extremely hefty but it certainly doesn’t deter suitors on account of the sheer quality he offers.

Newcastle United have been playing cat and mouse with Premier League FFP rules ever since Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund’s takeover of the club almost 3 years ago.

As such, The Magpies may have to let go of some of their star men in the summer to prevent breaching the FFP rules. Some of the star men who may have to be sold include marquee Swedish forward Alexander Isak and fan favourite Bruno Guimarães.

As The Sun reports, Manchester United are one of the clubs closely monitoring the situation of Brazilian Guimarães.

According to the report, Arsenal, Man United and Paris St Germain are all vying for the fantastic midfielder’s signature in case The Magpies are forced to sell him.

It is nigh on impossible for a club to let go of their best players, but Newcastle may be forced to in order to balance their budget and fulfil FFP obligations.

Arsenal had been admiring the midfield general for a while before he moved to Newcastle United during the winter transfer window in 2022, in a move worth £35 million.

These fresh FFP issues may force The Magpies to sell him, opening another opportunity for the missed transfer.

Man United may however come in with very underhanded considering they may not make it to Europe after the horrible season they are having.

The position is the same with his current club Newcastle United who are languishing in 8th, two places below United.

Guimarães is reportedly very keen on playing in the Champions League so if Newcastle have to let go of him, he will opt for a club that guarantees Champions League football and United are not it.
