Whilst pursuits of Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs de Ligt are looking close to completing, finding solutions to United’s centre-back and striker needs, the Red Devils are still desperate to find a solution to their left-back problem.

United were caught extremely short last season, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out through injury, needing to rely on other first team players like Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to fill the void left by the absence of their first and second choice left-backs.

The Red Devils have already considered Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez, with reports now linking the club to Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell.

All three players are still being heavily considered to take the reliance off of Shaw and Malacia, especially with the club being open to offers for both left-backs by omitting them from their ‘untouchable’ list this summer.

However, reports from sports journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu for Sports Digitale claim that United are now looking into Fenerbahce’s Ferdi Kadioglu.

The 24-year-old has been representing the Turkish national team in this year’s European Championships in Germany, featuring in every game helping the Turkish squad reach the Quarter-Finals where they were knocked out by the Netherlands, losing 2-1.

Despite being a left-back, Kadioglu’s versatility has been on show at the Euros, with the coach, Vincenzo Montella using the defender in left midfield also.

The 24-year-old received his call up to the national squad for the tournament after a strong set of performances this season, seeing the team come second in Super Lig and make it to the Quarter-Finals of the Turkiye Kupasi and the UEFA Europa Conference League.

With 51 appearances across all competitions, including nine matches as right-back, Kadioglu grabbed three goals and five assists to support the Fenerbahce squad in their campaigns, both domestically and European.

Whilst the signing of Kagioglu would definitely support with the issues at left-back, he’s also a great contingency plan for if the plague of injuries were to be experienced again, with his versatility to be able to play across the defence and on the wing.

Manchester United are yet to discuss availability with Fenerbahce as of yet, but are believed to be setting up talks with Kadioglu’s representatives over the coming days with the left-back having two years left on his contract.
