Since joining the English Premier League, Brentford have been a breath of fresh air.

Thomas Frank has got his side to play an attractive brand of football that has won plaudits across the board.

Not only have the club and manager come out of this with immense credit, but so have many players from the club.

And it seems that Manchester United are massively interested in buying one of their players.

That’s according to Football Insider, who claim that Manchester United made an enquiry to sign left back Rico Henry in the summer transfer window from The Bees.

After injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, United were linked with a whole bunch of left backs and Henry was one of those mentioned – with the online publication now claiming that United did make a move for the former Walsall player.

The publication goes on further to state that several English Premier League sides are interested in signing Henry, with United part of that list.

It’ll be interesting to see whether United follow up again in the following windows. With the likes of Shaw, Malacia, Sergio Reguilon and Alvaro Fernandez in the first team squad, it may be that United feel that Brentford’s asking price may be too high in an area that they’re well stocked for the long term.

Henry is under contract at the Brentford Community Stadium until June 2026.
