Its has been a historic season over at Bayer Leverkusen as Xabi Alonso has finally managed to break Bayern Munich’s 11 year rule over German Football winning Leverkusen’s first league title in their 120 years of existence.

Xabi’s title winning stars have not gone unnoticed and that includes his prolific right wing back Jeremie Frimpong.

Manchester Evening News had just last month linked the high flying Dutchman with a link to Man United stating The Red Devils were actively monitoring him and could indeed make a move.

This may gaining traction fast as BILD reporter Christian Falk reports that Frimpong’s management are indeed in talks with Manchester United as well as German giants Bayern Munich.

“Alonso and sporting director [Simon] Rolfes are working on a shared future with Jeremie Frimpong,” wrote Falk for Caught Offside.

“His contract until 2028 also contains an exit clause. The wing player can go for €40m. The clause would have to be activated before the start of the European Championship in June.” he continued on Frimpong’s status.

“Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester United have registered their interest in the Dutchman.” Falk on the interested clubs.

“The management of Frimpong is already in concrete talks with United and Bayern.” he concluded convinced of talks between his management and Manchester United.

The Dutchman has absolutely starred for Alonso’s all-concquering Leverkusen featuring in 38 matches across all competitions.

He has accompanied that with 11 goals and 12 assists, frankly astonishing numbers for a defender.

Manchester United have grossly struggled defensively this season and they will be looking to perhaps overhaul their defensive units.

Frimpong offers that as well as untenable creativity and production from that right flank and United could do well with such a top talent.
