As per a report by Football Insider, Manchester United is open to parting ways with Christian Eriksen in the upcoming January transfer window. The club is seemingly ready to offload another high-profile player, with concerns over the 31-year-old midfielder’s “legs have gone” and that he cannot cope with the Premier League’s demanding pace.

The report states that there’s a growing belief within the club that Eriksen, who has struggled with a knee injury since his clash in the match against Luton Town last month, is no longer able to match the physical demands of the league.

This assessment has cast serious doubts over his future at Old Trafford, especially with Sir Jim Ratcliffe nearing the completion of his deal to acquire a 25 percent stake in Manchester United.

This deal could lead to significant changes in football decisions at the club.

Eriksen’s tenure at Manchester United has been under scrutiny, particularly in light of his performances at the start of this season, which were deemed subpar by the coaching staff.

Despite being a key signing by former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag in the summer of 2022, his contributions this season have been modest, with just one goal and two assists in 15 appearances.

Reflecting on his time at United, Eriksen, whose contract is set to expire in 2025, made 44 appearances across all competitions in his debut season, starting 25 out of the 31 league games he played.

He managed one goal and eight assists during that period.

As United prepares for potential changes, they are reportedly ready to entertain offers for the ex-Tottenham and Brentford player in the next transfer window.

This development comes as the team, after an inconsistent season, secured a win against Everton in their most recent match on Wednesday, 6 December.

Looking ahead, Manchester United’s focus shifts to their upcoming Premier League fixture against Bournemouth, set to take place at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, 9 December.
