According to a report from TEAMtalk, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund are all vying to sign 24-year-old Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who appears to be on his way out of the London club.

Despite his desire to stay and compete for a spot in the team, Chalobah has been informed that he does not fit into manager Mauricio Pochettino’s long-term plans, pushing him closer to an exit in the coming months. Previously, an exit was on the cards during the summer transfer window, but a transfer did not materialize. Now, Chelsea is eager to remove him from their payroll.

Chalobah, a product of Chelsea’s academy and a staunch supporter of the club, had his senior debut under former manager Thomas Tuchel. The positive rapport between Tuchel and Chalobah is still intact, and with Tuchel currently at Bayern Munich, this opens up possibilities for a move in January.

Borussia Dortmund, another Bundesliga powerhouse, has expressed interest and has been in talks with Chalobah’s representatives regarding a potential move to Signal Iduna Park in 2024.

Nevertheless, these German clubs could face stiff competition from Manchester United, who are also monitoring the situation and are contemplating keeping Chalobah in the Premier League.

Chelsea is looking to fetch around £45 million for Chalobah, although there is some flexibility given the club’s eagerness to sell to facilitate multiple new signings during the winter window.

Chelsea’s fans are discontented with the potential sale of another academy graduate, following the summer departures of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Lewis Hall, and Mason Mount—the latter of whom is now at Old Trafford and could potentially be joined by Chalobah.

If Chalobah were to remain in England, a move to a top-six club could be very appealing. After rejecting a move to Nottingham Forest in the summer, he is aiming to play in European competitions.

Manchester United, under the management of Erik ten Hag, is considering a move but faces budget constraints, necessitating player sales to fund any substantial winter deals.

Chalobah has made 63 senior appearances for Chelsea since joining the club at the age of 14.
