When Donny van de Beek swapped Amsterdam for Manchester, he must have thought his career would have gone a completely different way.
Seen as one of the stars for the future, van de Beek was a crucial part of a young and exciting Ajax side that was taking Europe by storm.
Such were his performances that the Netherlands international was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
However, it was Manchester United who paid a reported £35m to snap him up under the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer regime.
And things have not gone well since for the player, with injuries and time out of the first team becoming hallmarks of his time in England.
Therefore, the former Ajax midfielder is expected to leave Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window and there are two clubs that are discussing taking him on loan for the season.
According to Foot Mercato, van de Beek is in discussions with French club Lorient after the Ligue 1 side had a loan offer accepted for the player.
This is in addition to Turkish giants Galatasaray, according to the Daily Mail, who have offered the midfielder a way out of the club by way of loan too.
With two sides in for the Dutchman, it’s likely that van de Beek’s future will be resolved soon with the transfer window due to shut on Friday.
