David Ornstein from The Athletic has just confirmed that Manchester United have made an offer for Chelsea’s left back Marc Cucurella.
With injuries to the likes of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, United are now on cover in the left back position and have been linked with a number of players over the past few days.
It now seems that Chelsea’a Marc Cucurella is the man that Erik Ten Hag wants.
According to Ornstein, the offer is for an initial loan for the Spanish left back.
The two sides are currently discussing how the loan will work, with details being ironed out.
Ornstein mentions that United feel Cucurella would work well within Ten Hag’s system and he’s the top candidate to fill that role while Shaw is out.
Cucurella only joined Chelsea last summer when he left Brighton in a mammoth £55m deal that could rise to £62m in add-ons.
The left back had just come off a stellar season for The Seagulls, one in which a highlight of his was scoring for Brighton in a 4-0 hammering against The Red Devils, with Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola wanting to sign the former Barcelona youngster before they were outbid by Stamford Bridge side.
So it seems that Cucurella is on his way to Old Trafford. What do you guys think of the move? Leave your comments below.
