It seems that Manchester United have been linked with a new right back for a very long time.

Despite both Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka impressing at times in the team in that spot, each is strong in one area and weak in another.

Dalot is pretty decent when it comes to his attacking instinct but not as great in defence, whereas Wan-Bissaka is arguably the best in the league in a 1v1 race but his attacking seems a bit uneasy at times.

That’s why the likes of Denzel Dumfries and Jeremie Frimpong have been linked at various times with a move to The Red Devils.

Another name linked with the club is Brazilian right back Vanderson.

Vanderson plays for French side Monaco in Ligue 1 and, at just 22, has quickly earned a reputation as among the best emerging full-backs in the world.

The youngster has already made his debut for the Brazil national team and was asked about his thoughts on the links to United.

Speaking to Trivela while on international duty, the Brazilian was more than happy to speak his mind on the matter.

“It’s cool,” said Vanderson.

“Knowing that even if it’s nothing definitive, knowing that the work is recognised, even if it’s not so official, but it’s cool.

“The biggest clubs in the world, everyone knows. It’s great to know that your name is mentioned in big clubs.”

He was then asked if he would like to play in the English Premier League, to which he responded positively.

“Yeah. It’s a great league. Everybody knows.

“I have goals of maybe after a great career here at Monaco, a change too.”

For now, Vanderson will continue to ply his trade in Monaco but it could be a sign that the player has bigger goals in mind for the future – with a keen interest in moving to England at some point in his career.

Vanderson has started the season strong in Ligue 1, registering a goal and an assist in just four games.
