The Red Devils have been struggling in recent matches, suffering defeats at the hands of Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion in their last two league outings. Adding to their woes, they were also bested by Bayern Munich in a recent Champions League fixture.

One player who has been under scrutiny this season is Marcus Rashford. The 25-year-old forward has had a slow start to the campaign, managing only one goal and two assists in six appearances across all competitions. However, there’s a glimmer of hope for Rashford and his fans as he’s shown promise in the team’s most recent matches.

Rashford has a history of performing well against Burnley. He has faced them 11 times in his professional career and boasts an impressive record of seven wins and four draws in those encounters. Despite this, his goal tally against the Clarets stands at just two, accompanied by two assists.

Rashford’s first encounter with Burnley dates back to 2016 when he played 82 minutes in a goalless draw. His only league goal against Burnley came during the 2019-20 season at Turf Moor. Notably, he was an unused substitute in their last meeting at Old Trafford in the 2021-22 campaign, where Manchester United emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline. In contrast, he played 85 minutes in the reverse fixture at Turf Moor, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

While Rashford’s goal-scoring record against Burnley may not be outstanding, what can’t be denied is his unbeaten track record against them. This undefeated status could be a source of confidence for him as he prepares for what is undoubtedly a crucial game this weekend.

Manchester United will be hoping that Rashford can rediscover his scoring touch and help them secure a much-needed victory to halt their recent slide in form.
