18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo was spotted participating in a first-team training session on Monday, marking his initial involvement this season.

The youthful prodigy accompanied the Red Devils during their 2023-24 pre-season expedition in the United States.

Unfortunately, a confrontation with Real Madrid led to an ankle affliction for Mainoo, necessitating his return to the UK for a detailed injury evaluation, which subsequently sidelined him for the starting weeks of the competitive period.

Since then, the young marvel has been earnestly focusing on his recuperation and is seemingly on the verge of achieving optimum fitness.

A visual snippet of Mainoo engrossed in training exercises at Carrington with his fellow squad members was disseminated on social media platform X by Andy Mitten, painting a hopeful picture ahead of the impending Champions League encounter with Galatasaray scheduled for Tuesday.

It is still in the balance whether Mainoo will be participating in the upcoming match, but there are anticipations regarding his presence in the Premier League game versus Brentford on Saturday, granted he attains complete fitness and match readiness.

Mainoo’s inaugural competitive match was in January 2023, where he was part of the starting lineup in the impressive 3-0 victory against Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup, followed by his Premier League debut in February, featuring as a substitute in another triumphant 3-0 outcome against Leicester City.

The promising midfielder, a notable alumnus of the Man United academy, is projected to evolve into a prominent figure in the Premier League. Given the current subpar performance of the Red Devils in the league, the prospect of Mainoo’s return is keenly awaited, with hopes pinned on his potential to revitalize the team’s on-field performance and elevate their league standing.
