On Monday, 22nd August, Manchester United announced that Mason Greenwood would be leaving the squad with both the player making a statement on the matter as well as United CEO Richard Arnold.
This decision was made following a six-month investigation by the club surrounding Greenwood’s arrest on suspicion of rape and assault.
Now that United have finalised their decision, they are looking for a permanent or loan move for Greenwood as they look to cut ties with the player.
The 21-year-old player has received a lot of interest already, and United’s phones have been ringing off the hook with potential offers from clubs in England and abroad.
However, according to ESPN, the most likely destination for the striker will be a club in either Saudi Arabia or Turkey.
While there has been interest from clubs in England, they might face opposition and backlash by signing Greenwood.
Man United have until the end of the summer transfer window on September 1st to secure a move for Greenwood, especially since he still remains under contract until 2025.
If a deal is not found in this time, then the Red Devils will need to consider a mutual termination of the player’s contract.
But with Saudi Arabia and Turkey on the horizon, it may not come to this.
