Over the past couple of months, there has been tons of uncertainty around Erik ten Hag and his job as United manager.

As such, numerous managers have been linked with the club among them being young Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim.

Spors Zone had a while ago reported Amorim was interested in managing in the Premier League and Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool were all interested.

Just two days ago, Sky Germany reported that the young Portuguese manager had reached an agreement with Liverpool to replace outgoing Klopp at the end of the season.

Speaking to the media, Amorim who has been linked with Manchester United firmly denied these reports denying any talks with Liverpool, United or any other club for that matter.

“This is the last time I’ll talk about my future,” he told a press conference ahead of their game at Gil Vicente on Friday.

“There was no interview [with Liverpool], let alone an agreement reached. The only thing we all want here is to be champions for Sporting and nothing will change,” he added firmly refuting Liverpool agreement.

“So I’m only focused as always on defending my club and since I don’t have anything else to say, there will be no interviews, there will be no agreements with the manager of Sporting. So this matter has been resolved,” he concluded about his future.

Amorim has been doing a fine job at Sporting and such interest from big European clubs is totally understandable.

They are also on course for a potential league win as they have a four-point lead at the top of the Primeira Liga, having played a game more than second-placed Lisbon rivals Benfica.

They also have a cup final to look forward to.

Ruben Amorim has certainly removed most of the hopes his admirers had as he seems set to stay in Portugal.

If Manchester United are to replace Erik ten Hag at the end of the season, it will not be for Ruben Amorim and they have to consider other candidates.
