Bournemouth may have to go into Saturday’s clash without one of their key men in Marcus Tavernier who will be a last minute call to see if he can make the squad.

The winger pulled up clutching his hamstring right after scoring in the weekend’s 2-1 loss to Luton Town.

It has since been revealed Tavernier has suffered a hamstring injury, the third since jooning Bournemouth in 2022 from Middlesbrough.

Speaking to Daily Echo, Cherries manager Andoni Iraola confirmed it was a hamstring injury and also added it looked bad, and they fear he could be out for the rest of the season.

“It’s a hamstring injury,” Iraola confirmed to the Daily Echo.

“It is going to be difficult, I hope he plays before the end of the season, but we have to see the MRI and what it tells us,” he concluded.

As unfortunate as it is, this effectively mean the winger misses the weekend’s clash against United.

Manchester United will be looking to exact sweet revenge over Bournemouth after they were humiliated by The Cherries at Old Trafford last December.

Manchester United’s displayed a terribly shambolic defensive effort compounded by a limp effort in attack as they registered only three shots on target, in that game.

Bournemouth goes into Saturday’s clash to face a desperate-for-points Man United.

Man United are in desperate needs of results to try and salvage a Champion’s League place, which will do well to salve the sour taste that has been this season as a whole.

The Red Devils come into the game after holding out Liverpool to a surprising 2-2 draw at Old Trafford last Sunday, a game that saw Man United absolutely dominated, especially in the first half.

Ten Hag’s team looked completely out of it and psychologically depleted before pulling the rabbit out of the hat with two unbelievable goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.

They will be desperate for points and should approach every game from Bournemouth to end-season as a final.
