Manchester United’s boss, Erik ten Hag, has provided an update on the team’s player availability for their upcoming Premier League clash with Burnley on Saturday. The Red Devils are facing several injury concerns, but four key players may make their return to the squad pending a final decision after Friday’s training session.

1. Raphael Varane: The French center-back has been absent from the Manchester United lineup since the third match of the Premier League season, where they faced Nottingham Forest. Varane’s return would bolster the team’s defense and provide valuable experience at the back.

2. Mason Mount: Mason Mount, who joined Manchester United from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, has been sidelined for the last four matches due to an injury sustained in the game against Tottenham Hotspur. His creativity in the midfield could be a significant asset for the team.

3. Sofyan Amrabat: Sofyan Amrabat, on loan from Fiorentina, is yet to feature for Manchester United due to a back problem he suffered during the recent international break with Morocco. His return could provide depth in midfield and additional options for ten Hag.

4. Harry Maguire: The Manchester United captain missed the recent Champions League clash with Bayern Munich due to a muscular problem picked up in training. Maguire’s leadership and defensive prowess are crucial for the team, and his return would be a welcome boost.

The United boss had this to say regarding their respective returns: Maybe, as you say, Harry Maguire – We will see better after training [on Friday afternoon]. “But Varane will train and we will see. Amrabat, he will train and we will see. Mount, as well, but they all didn’t play for a short or longer term. Varane, obviously, was the shortest [time] out.”

The final decision will be made after the club’s training session on Friday. In the meantime, several other Manchester United players remain sidelined with injuries, including Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Tyrell Malacia, Amad Diallo, and Tom Heaton. Antony is currently on leave in Brazil, and Jadon Sancho is not being considered for selection due to a reported falling-out with Ten Hag.
