Erik ten Hag has been forced to reshuffle his squad for tomorrow’s match against Brighton as new signing pulls out of international duty due to an injury.

Brighton is set to visit Old Trafford for the first time this season, making this a crucial match for both sides, especially as it provides the much-needed momentum following the international break

However, there’s an unexpected twist in United’s lineup which revolves around the recently acquired Moroccan international, Sofyan Amrabat, who will be absent due to an injury sustained during international duty.

“Amrabat, he came back unfortunately with the injury, so he will not be available for tomorrow [Saturday], but I think, on the short notice [soon], yes. And I’m sure we will all get joy from them.” Ten Hag speaking to MUTV.

Amrabat’s absence was initially attributed to a registration issue that prevented him from facing Arsenal despite being signed on transfer deadline day. However, it has since been revealed that the midfielder’s withdrawal from international duty was a precautionary measure taken due to an undisclosed injury, according to his national team’s head coach, Walid Regragui.

In light of Amrabat’s unavailability, Manager Erik ten Hag hinted at the possibility of Sergio Reguilon making his debut for Manchester United, saying “We are a little bit short of defenders, so [Reguilon] can come quickly.”

Additionally, Manchester United will also be without Mason Mount and Raphael Varane for the upcoming match due to their own injuries, further straining the squad. On a brighter note, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof are expected to be fit and available for selection.
