Axel Tuanzebe was once heralded as the next big defensive prospect coming out of the Old Trafford academy.

Tuanzebe had produced an absolute masterclass in keeping French superstar Kylian Mbappe quiet in an encounter with Paris Saint-Germain and the expectation was that Tuanzebe would kick on and establish himself in the United first team.

However, it didn’t quite turn out like that.

Despite spending time on loan at the likes of Aston Villa and Napoli, Tuanzebe wasn’t quite able to take his game to the next level.

Subsequently, the English defender was released by United in the summer.

But he hasn’t been on the free agent market for long, with it confirmed today that Tuanzebe has found himself a new club.

Manchester United Football Club have released a statement that Tuanzebe will be playing his football at Ipswich Town, where he has signed a one year contract with the option of an extra year.

It seems that Tuanzebe has made the decision to step down a level to the Championship and look to rebuild his career there.

Tuanzebe will be joined by familiar faces in Ipswich as the club’s manager is former United coach Kieran McKenna and it’s also where fellow defender Brandon Williams is currently on loan.

Ipswich will be hoping that they can help Tuanzebe realise the potential that he showed in his early years.

Everybody at CentreDevils would like to wish Axel the very best of luck as he looks to rebuild his career away from Old Trafford.
