Manchester United’s promising young talent, Kobbie Mainoo, is once again catching eyes in training after displaying an impressive flair reminiscent of greats like Ronaldinho. The 18-year-old standout had previously turned heads during the pre-season under Erik ten Hag, only to unfortunately sustain an ankle injury during a friendly match against Real Madrid held in Houston, Texas.
Following the incident at the NRG Stadium, images of Mainoo departing with crutches surfaced, leading to the club’s announcement that he’d be sidelined for the initial part of the season. Yet, in a stroke of good news for United supporters, the midfielder has rejoined the first team in their training sessions, marking a significant comeback for the team.
This news comes just as Manchester United faces another injury concern. Midfielder Casemiro, who recently represented Brazil internationally, is set to miss the upcoming match against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane due to what the club termed as a “small issue.”

Mainoo’s return to fitness couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. The Manchester native, associated with the Red Devils since he was merely nine years old, has been the talk of the town after executing a remarkable no-look flicked pass in training.
Manchester United’s management has high hopes for Mainoo. Before his setback, Erik ten Hag had expressed appreciation for the young star’s potential. Furthermore, club legends such as Andy Cole and Bryan Robson have also sung praises for the young midfielder. Given his evident skill set, ten Hag conveyed that he wouldn’t hesitate to grant Mainoo substantial playtime on the field.
