The rivalry between Manchester United and Manchester City is one of the most intense and storied in English football.

It’s a rivalry that divides families and neighbourhoods, with fans of both clubs passionately supporting their respective teams in the city of Manchester.

So intense is the rivalry that former Manchester United captain Gary Neville refused to shake the hand of another former Manchester United captain Peter Schmeichel when the Great Dane moved to play for the Citizens – something that Neville justifies to this day as he considered it unforgivable for a former United player to play for City.

While there are many players who have made their mark at either Manchester United or Manchester City such as Denis Law, Brian Kidd, Carlos Tevez and Andrew Cole, there are some who held this unique distinction of playing for both clubs but are rarely remembered.

With the latest edition of the Manchester derby due to take place this Sunday, we will delve into the careers of ten players who might not be widely known for their dual allegiance to these two footballing giants.
